The weather was nice and I hadn’t made any HDR shots with my Nikon D3 yet, so I thought I’d take it out for a spin. It seemed to handle well and the fast FPS helped to minimize blur in moving objects. the 14-but RAW file capture is quite stunning. I have to admit, I do tire of the whole HDR process.

I also caught some of the infamous Fix I-5 Project as well. All of those shots were made with a Nikkor 300mm f4 EF prime lens at ISO 8000! Check out the (lack of) noise from the D3. I’ve gotten similar results at ISO 25,000. Simply amazing.
